Texting While Driving Is Illegal - And Bad for Your Health

Dr. Amy Ship writes in the New England Journal of Medicine that physicians should counsel all of their patients about the dangers of texting while driving. Dr. Ship's premise is logically sound: texting while driving causes a lack of focus; that lack of focus is a risk; that risk is a threat to a patient's health.

Illinois is one of 39 States that regulate texting while driving. There are other studies (footnoted in Dr. Ship's article) that conclude that texting while driving is as dangerous as drunk driving.

Texting while driving is illegal in Illinois. If you have been injured by a driver who was texting at the time of a collision you could have a strong case for your injuries.
